Economic Impact Study Three elements of a healthcare facility’s economic impact exist. Direct Impact – The healthcare facility’s employees, equipment and supplies, and outside services. Indirect Impact – The employees, equipment and supplies, and outside services purchased by local businesses in order to produce the equipment, supplies and outside services purchased by the healthcare facility, as well as other business services of the healthcare facility. Induced Impact – The household spending of the healthcare facility’s and supplier’s employees.
